Amwell Named a Top Virtual Health Vendor by KLAS Research

The Amwell Converge platform was recognized as a leader in the Reported Breadth of Capabilities and Care Settings category for the KLAS Research July 2023 report.

The digital health platform enables and streamlines a hybrid approach to care delivery at scale. Broader than traditional telehealth services, the enterprise-level platform spans in-person, virtual and automated care services. Both payers and providers leverage Converge to expand and improve member and patient access to care.

Within its first 18 months, more than one million patient visits were completed on the Converge platform, supporting a spectrum of care settings including acute, post-acute, primary care, behavioral health and more.

KLAS reviewed 11 vendors in the virtual health category and assessed their capabilities in four key areas:

  • Delivery: Care settings and staffing models for which a solution may be used, along with patient communication channels

  • Technology and connectivity: Features, hardware and devices the platform can use to deliver care to patients

  • Workflow and content: Clinical and administrative workflow capabilities, and ways to share clinical content

  • Integration: EMR vendor integration, interoperability standards and data flow

Committed to creating a future-ready, industry-leading offering, Amwell has established key partnerships to enhance the platform's functionality and enable clinicians to activate an extension of themselves – digitally – in the space between in-person visits, including:

  • Google Cloud: AI-powered tools engage patients and their care teams before, during and after visits to drive better health insights and outcomes; real-time captioning and translation services increase inclusiveness and strengthen patient education

  • TytoCare: Livestream integration enables improved diagnosis and treatment for virtual visits using the company’s handheld exam kit with built-in visual guidance technology

  • The Clinic: Clinicians can request virtual second opinion services for patients and connect to one of 3,500 Cleveland Clinic physicians in more than 550 advanced sub-specialties

  • Biobeat: The Converge platform incorporates Biobeat’s tool for the continuous monitoring of 15 vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygenation and respiratory rate

Along with the KLAS recognition, the platform’s advanced functionality drives higher user satisfaction rates. Among the patients and providers leveraging the services on the Converge platform, greater than 90 percent gave it a thumbs-up rating. Plus, healthcare leaders like Michael Williams, vice president and CIO, Lawrence Memorial Hospital, say the Converge platform "has truly been life-altering."

In addition, analysts such as Frost & Sullivan have recognized the Converge connective digital infrastructure for earning "A sterling reputation for empowering clients' strategic initiatives as they evolve into the era of digital hybrid care."
